Frequently Asked Question

A. Demco Direct has its own fleet of vans for deliveries. These are used for 'milk runs' of smaller orders to areas not too far from the Battery Centres around the country. In addition, Demco Direct are partnered with FedEx, who we use for urgent next day deliveries and to reach customers that are outside of the “milk run” areas. Larger orders and orders that need to be palletised are shipped via our pallet Network. Demco Direct can export products around the world, however, not all battery types are suitable for export. If you are abroad and are interested in Demco Direct’s products, please contact Head Office.
A. These small red or black bungs are fitted to prevent electrolyte leakage in transport and MUST be removed prior to fitment or charging of the battery. Failure to remove the bungs will mean that the breather holes are blocked during service and the battery could explode.
A. You can either return old batteries to any of Demco Direct’s Battery Centres or you can contact your local authority for information about local recycling facilities. We do offer bulk collections and we operate recycling containers for large battery users. Please see our Recycling Page for more information or contact your local battery centre.

A. Yes, other than those that require activation packs or dry charged batteries. These will need to have electrolyte added as per the instructions sent with the batteries and charged as necessary. Please follow the guidance found with the battery. If you are unsure, please feel free to contact us. Every charged battery is voltage checked prior to shipping.
A. We give as much advice as we can, but the guides on our websites are purely guides. Please feel free to call us for advice or drop in to one of Demco Direct’s Battery Centres where our expert staff will be happy to help.
A. You will need to send the battery to us or one of our chosen partners for Test. We will then test the battery and inform you of the result. Please note that to properly test a battery can take 48 – 72 hours and on completion of the Test, we will supply a written report. If the battery was supplied by us and is within the warranty period we will only replace batteries with manufacturing faults.
A. In most circumstances, yes. However you should always seek advice if unsure.
